This month, we would like to focus our staff spotlight on our Engineering Department. In previous months we have shared stories about our staff on the production side of things, but for March we wanted to give you a glimpse into the design process at BWS.
Our current Engineering Team is made up of six talented Designers – Lloyd Orser, Victor Bobarnac, Aaron Faulkner, Francis Campbell, Corey Ivey and Barry Blaney, as pictured below:
All of our Designers have worked at BWS for multiple years, adding value to our company with an impressive amount of combined years of experience. To get a true overview of life in the Engineering Department, we spoke with Engineering Manager Barry Blaney on his thoughts about the department.
Most notably, said Barry, engineering trailers at BWS is about using creativity in a team environment to improve the products which will eventually be delivered to our customers. To achieve the highest level of quality in our products, “there needs to be a willingness to work with all people throughout the organization to get the most accurate information as possible.” Interaction with different departments and individuals is a major part of being a BWS Engineer according to our team of designers. Although working with computer programs like 3D CAD Inventor takes up the majority of our engineers’ time, they also spend fair portions of their day visiting the production floor in search of information.
With our production schedule becoming increasingly busy, BWS is currently in search of an additional Designer to join our Engineering Team. Barry maintains that one of the most rewarding aspects of this position is finding better transportation solutions for our customers. “BWS has a great work environment at all levels, and is team and product oriented,” says Barry. At the end of the day, being able to use their creativity to design new assemblies or products to make them more user-friendly motivates our Designers.
